Prodromes: Flu-like symptoms (muscle aches, fatigue, itching, pain in the back of my legs)

Method of Control: Besides trying to have a healthier lifestyle....i'm on Famvir 250 mg/twice daily .....so far so good.

My Story: I became infected on May 18, 1999, and had a "horrible" true primary infection! I was shocked, devastated, disgusted...everything else you can think of. That first experience emotionally scarred me and I will never be the same person I was before that day. I blame myself mostly, because I've always known the man I was with was very promiscuous. Everyone says this shouldn't have to change your life....but i don't see how it doesn't. I am scared to pursue another relationship and I guess now I have to look before I leap into any relationship. I really have educated myself alot since this has happened to me and this forum has helped me tremendously. I've realized that I am not alone.
